So I'm gonna be a helicopter pilot (hopefully)

My father used to have a class III pilot's license for flying small airplanes before he got married. After he married my mother, he started flying large remote controlled helicopters. He used to fly it all the time when I was young and I had always wanted to fly it. After he died, I knew I would never get the chance to fly his helicopter (though I do still have it and will never get rid of it), but I inevitably would have crashed it (and probably really really badly). I have always had a fascination with helicopters and always wanted to fly them, but I had never really thought that I could make a career of it until I watched a docu-something on helicopters ans there were so many pilots on the show. I thought to myself, "Why can't I be one of them?" The answer I quickly found was the simple fact of money. It costs roughly $70,000 (USA) to get a class II helicopter piloting certification and license. I very much don't have $70,000. I am currently looking into joining to the coast guard or some branch of the military under the condition of becoming a helicopter pilot. I'm not sure if you are allowed to do that, but I'm definitely going to give it a try. If that fails, I guess I'll be taking out loans.
