New Lens & Star Scapes

Journal Entry: Sun Nov 15, 2009, 7:45 PM
:icontjparson:

Well I just purchased a new lens. It's a 74˚ Wide Angle AF Nikkor 28mm f/2.8D Autofocus!!!! I'm super excited to use it for my shoot of the Lenoid Meteor Shower on Tuesday night. Hopefully I will have someone going with (it would def suck to be taking photos all night after a lonely 7hr drive only to go right back the next day). Hopefully ~clwither will be able to go with me, but who knows?

There are two spots I am looking at to shoot from. One spot is very special to me and I have been hoping to visit it for quite some time. It is the closest true dark spot to where I live. It's a little lake in the Eastern side of North Carolina. I would really like to figure out who owns the land there so I can get actual permission to shoot there, but for now that is not a priority. The other place is a mountain near where I went to college. It won't be anywhere near as dark as the lake, but it will do decently enough for what I need (even though it will likely be super crowded).

That is all.

Keep cool everyone :)

****EDIT

So the weather for everywhere I could possibly think to go for the meteor shower is going to be under cloud cover or raining (LAME!!!!), so it appears that i will not be shooting the Lenoid Meteor Shower after all. But, I am still getting a new and very sexy lens and I will be going to that lake some weekend this winter when there are no clouds and shooting the stars and the Milky Way galaxy belt.

I am still going to greensboro tomorrow though.

I am also going to Greensboro for my friend Josh. We will be shooting another movie in his series of Agents films. The one we are shooting part of this weekend will be about my character who is a short lived badass/sniper code named Saint. Once finished, it should be up on deviantART, but that won't be for quite a while.

Keep cool everyone :B

I would like to thank my good friend `timmy64 for this snazzy CSS he cooked up :bucktooth: thanks muchly timmy

deviantID

I am very new to photgraphy having started with a Canon PowerShot SD1000 on January 5th, 2008. My interest in photography was sparked by the many sunrises and sunsets I would see on my way too and from school each day and wanting to freeze the sky as it was and save it away forever. I begged my mother constantly to get me a camera for my birthday or Christmas, but it never happened. I finally saved up money from Christmas and work and bought a little PowerShot for $271. Being new to the world of cameras (and thus stupid) I found that to be a bargain.
I started out only snapping pictures of sunsets and sunrises and posting them on my account on deviantART. I was encouraged to try other things and before I knew it I had been sucked into photography. Everything in this world I find to be visually interesting, I will try to capture in a way that compliments it.
I recently decided to dive into this world even deeper by making a huge investment in purchasing a Nikon D90 (as a second camera…in under a year). I think I understand it pretty well and know how to use it, but I have decided to allow this site to be the judge of that.
